The support provided by the Marketing teams includes planning, developing, implementing, and directing district marketing objectives and programs for new club development, club rescue efforts, club membership promotion and membership retention. These team efforts are facilitated by the lieutenant governor of marketing, promoting the high standards of service to the member and to the club.

Membership Contests Realizing that growing club membership is key to keeping your club as vibrant as possible, Toastmasters International sponsors membership-building contests throughout the year: Individual Sponsorship, the Smedley Award, Talk Up Toastmasters, and Beat the Clock. There are other membership campaigns for clubs to be of service to the community. Check out the Marketing section of "Events" to view details on the current campaign.
Support for New Clubs – Club Extensions Assists communities and organizations in forming new clubs. Speaks to the club charter process, delivers information and meets with potential club leaders, arranges demo meetings, and assists with recruiting Club Mentors and Sponsors. New clubs may have up to two Sponsors who are responsible for the actual organization of the new Club. Up to two Mentors may be appointed by the District Governor. Mentors should be experienced Toastmasters who actually join the new Club, providing guidance during the first six months to one year of its existence. Sponsors and Mentors receive a certificate as well as credit toward the Advanced Leader Silver (ALS) award upon successful completion of award criteria.
Support for Existing Clubs – Club Coach Existing clubs that are experiencing difficulties building and maintaining membership may request a Club Coach. The coach’s goal is help the club become a Distinguished Club.
The District Governor may appoint up to two coaches to each club. The Coach may not be a member of the club at the time of appointment, but may join the club after being assigned. The Club must request a Club Coach and have 12 or fewer members at the time of the appointment.
A Coach receives a pin upon assignment and a certificate upon successful completion of the assignment. A successful coach also receives credit toward the Advanced Leader Silver (ALS) award. For more details about this year Club Coach Program click here. (hyperlink to new page Club Coach page)
Marketing Chaired by the Lt. Governor of Marketing (LGM) and coordinated with the Public Relations Officer (PRO), this committee promotes the Toastmasters organization and mission throughout the District. The Chair plans and prepares a public relations plan for finding new members and club assistance. The committee coordinates the preparation and distribution of print, radio, and television media; coordinates articles, appearances, and events promoting District events and members; oversees itineraries for visiting International Directors and other Toastmasters International dignitaries; and assists event committees in preparing promotional materials for District functions and events.
Your Area Governor As a Club Officer or Member, the Area Governor is your first line of communication with the District. Your Area Governor will coordinate Area speech contests and visit your club at least twice a year. Please contact your Area Governor for guidance with club-related activities such as 1) preparing and implementing your Club Success Plan, 2) achieving Distinguished Club status, 3) sharing ideas for public relations and membership growth, 4) explaining the Toastmasters educational program, and 5) completing administrative responsibilities.
